Exploring Racial Justice and Systemic Oppression
Humanity began with one person, Adam, so that no one could say to another, “My ancestors are greater than yours” (Mishna Sanhedrin 4:5). During this exploration, we will meet with Black leaders in the field of racial equity. We will learn with organizations led by Jews of Color in the United States and discuss the Jewish community’s structural exclusivity. Our lesson will include a workshop with comic book writers who will discuss how the inclusion of Black superheroes has evolved and serves as one way of combating anti-Black racism.
