Since the times of the prophets, we learn from Isaiah to “take the unsheltered into our homes.” We will learn about several nonprofits and social enterprises that are striving to have an impact on the issues of homelessness in Los Angeles. This experience includes a virtual tour of Skid Row in Los Angeles. Participants will meet a formerly homeless individual and hear their story. We will culminate by considering questions of how to support people experiencing homelessness and the role that systemic and structural racism play in keeping families and individuals unhoused.
