Hoodies for the Homeless
Hoodies for the Homeless was established by a teenager deeply moved by witnessing the hardships faced by those experiencing homelessness, particularly during harsh winter conditions. Motivated by encounters in New York City and a memorable experience in Washington D.C. during fifth grade, where they saw a man without warm clothing at the Lincoln Memorial, the founder felt compelled to take action. This led to the creation of a grassroots organization that unites communities to provide warmth and hope to those in need.
The mission focuses on collecting and distributing hoodies and sweatshirts to those experiencing homelessness, collaborating with various organizations to ensure effective distribution. Over the past few years, the initiative has expanded to 45 locations across 14 states (including New York, Florida, Illinois, and California) and collected over 25,000 hoodies, demonstrating the impact of community-driven efforts in addressing homelessness.
