NYC Fair Trade Coalition
The NYC Fair Trade Coalition is a nonprofit organization that promotes offers a unique educational experience for ethically-aligned businesses, students of sustainability, and advocates by creating space to incubate and activate local communities. The Sustainable Fashion Community Center (SFCC) is the physical hub, created by the NYC Fair Trade Coalition, to eliminate textile waste in New York City. At the center, we encourage people to donate clothes and educate them about recycling clothing instead of discarding them and making them end up in landfills.
Volunteers who help out at the community center sort through the donations and arrange them in our Swap Shop. Volunteers also organize shoes, books, bags and hats.
Students can sign up here to volunteer. They can also purchase a ticket for free on eventbrite to visit the center.
