Description:
Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is a youth homeless services organization that supports 12—to 25-year-olds experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. SPY has a Drop-in Center in Venice, where young people in need of services can stop by for a meal, spend time in our healing arts studio, or meet with a therapist or a case manager to discuss their barriers to housing and how SPY can support them. SPY also operates eight housing programs across Los Angeles.
Students can help volunteer by organizing donation drives. Our most needed items are:
Full Size Hygiene Products:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Soap
- Deodorant
- Lotion
- Chapstick
Snacks:
- Protein Bars
- Cereal Boxes
- Ramen
- Chips
- Water
- Gatorade
Other high needs:
- Reusable Water Bottles
- Phone Chargers
- Blankets
Depending on the students' interests, we can also be flexible with the ways they can support SPY. We have a high need for pet supplies, hot meals, and a community garden, as a few examples of other ways students can get involved.
