Bridges of Understanding

CONFRONTING ANTISEMITISM AND BIGOTRY WORKSHOPS

Interactive Workshops to Confront Antisemitism and Bigotry

Building a Shared Understanding to Combat Hate

Before we can effectively confront antisemitism, we must first acknowledge that bigotry and hate harm everyone, regardless of background. Our interactive sessions guide participants—Jewish and non-Jewish teenagers from diverse communities—toward this shared understanding. By recognizing our collective responsibility to challenge all forms of bigotry, participants are empowered to make meaningful change.

A Deeper Dive into Antisemitism’s Broader Impact

After our initial framing, our workshops take a deeper dive into antisemitism. Through nuanced discussions and educational activities, students come to see antisemitism not just as a Jewish problem, but as a societal issue that threatens everyone., Participants gain the tools to identify and address antisemitism within their schools and communities, understanding its broader implications.

Demystifying Microaggressions and Tackling the Bystander Effect

Our workshops also address specific behaviors and how to affect cultural change.  We teach about microaggressions and give students the language and strategies to call out subtle acts of bias. Additionally, we confront the bystander effect, challenging participants to move from passive observation to active allyship in the face of injustice.

Proactive and Nationally Impactful Programming

While we work predominantly with schools in the greater Los Angeles area, Tzedek America also brings our workshops to schools across the nation. Our proactive approach equips students to address prejudice, racism and antisemitism before it escalates. Our workshops create safe and brave spaces for honest dialogue.  Our program builds bridges of understanding, empowering young people to become leaders in promoting inclusion, acceptance and respect.
