Description:

Furry Friends is working every day to support the human-animal bond by addressing needs at both ends of the leash. As the needs of our community and region evolve, we are refocusing to improve our care for pets while also addressing the root causes of pet overpopulation. Our vision is to transform our facilities into nation-leading campuses for lifesaving programs, address disparities in the supply of and access to adoptable pets, provide access to Veterinary Services to all, and build a culture of care and achievement.

Volunteer Opportunities for Those Under 18:

Distribute: Distribute marketing materials for us to local shops, stores, and feed stores. Help us build our community partnerships and relationships by advocating on our behalf! You can come pick up flyers, one sheets, brochures, and business cards from us anytime.

Create: Make enrichment toys for our shelter pets from your home. There’s tons of ways to reuse/recycle old materials to create enrichment for our animals. Both dogs and cats benefit from enrichment while staying at the shelter. Ideas 1 Ideas 2 Ideas 3 Ideas 4

Fundraise: We’ve had young supporters do all sorts of things to help us raise funds! Get creative- you can host a lemonade stand, try peer-to-peer fundraiser, have a car wash, a bake sale, a talent show, walkathon… the sky is the limit!

Spread the Word: Become a social media ambassador! Repost/ Or create social media content for us. By becoming a virtual advocate, you help spread the world to a larger audience right from the comfort of our phone. Click HERE for our virtual Foster program.

Start Up: Start a club at your school. Teach your peers about our mission and animal rescue. Many students are passionate about animal welfare but are unsure how to help and where to start. Creating a club in your school is a great way to join forces with others with a similar passion for helping animals. Find a few students who love animals and see if they want to be a part of the founding group. Find a teacher that will help you host this club and we will provide all the lesson plans. You and your friends can help create generational change!

Photograph or Video: Photograph or video events for us. We always need content. Email mpetersen@furryfriendsadoption.org to find out about our upcoming events. Bring your camera and start snapping away! We love receiving new photos and videos to use for our pets bio’s, our social media, our website, and our marketing materials.

Host: Host a pet food drive for us. We ALWAYS need supplies. Food Drives help us sustain throughout the year. Click here for our Publix wishlist.   Check out this article for ideas.

Foster: Foster for us. Did you know you get 3 hours of community service each day you foster? We have tons of cats and dogs that could benefit from some time away from the shelter. Email lwiles@furryfriendsadoption.org to inquire about available animals to foster.

Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.

We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.

Our approach

Our Mission
Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.

Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision
We want to build a world where no child or youth feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
Our entire team wants to see a world where every youngster struggling in any way feels able to reach out and has people who’ll help them with education, jobs, and more. We want to spread out in every region so we’ll be reachable to all.
