Book Fairies sources and redistributes books to under-resourced communities on Long Island, NYC and internationally to provide equitable opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive.
Volunteering is a great way to make a direct impact on local communities, families and at-risk children. Our volunteers provide critical support by generously giving their time and talents. Whether it’s sorting books or hosting a book drive, there are many ways to get involved.
Must be at least 12 years old to volunteer with a parent/guardian present. Fill out the volunteer application to learn more.
Opportunities to Get Involved:
- Sort Books: Sort and pack incoming book donations at the Book Bank.
- Host A Book Drive: Collect new and gently used books for local children.
- Monthly Book Fairs: Weekend opportunities to help us distribute directly to educators.
- Donation Location: Become an on-going book donation location at your home.
- Raise Funds: Host a fundraiser to help raise awareness and funds for our mission.
- Drivers: Help pick up or deliver books within your comfort driving zone.
- Outreach: Raise awareness about our programs to the general public.
