New Life for Old Bags is a collaborative effort of people of all ages and abilities, creating mats for the homeless from used plastic bags. The mats are distributed by Cornerstone Community Outreach in Uptown.
Anyone who can use scissors can participate. Collect your own plastic bags or use the bags in storage. It takes 500 to 700 bags to make one mat. We will provide you with step-by-step instructions.
Occasional in-person craft sessions are held around the city.
