Description:

Pasadena Humane is a donor-supported, nonprofit organization that provides animal care and services for homeless and owned animals in the Greater Los Angeles Area. For more than 117 years, we’ve promoted compassion and care for all animals through lifesaving programs and services to the community that support the human-animal bond and keep pets healthy and safe. In 2020, we had a combined 91.5% live release rate for dogs, cats and critters and saved 100% of healthy and safe animals.

What will I be doing?

Jr. Volunteers (Ages 11 to 14)

$350 per four-week session

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Jr. Volunteers program is designed for youth ages 11-14 who want to make a difference while earning community service hours. This hands-on program empowers participants to support the shelter through meaningful service. Each week, they will take part in hands-on projects, such as crafting enrichment toys, folding laundry, building critter mazes, and preparing supplies for animals and staff.

Participants will learn how a shelter operates, explore animal-related careers, and track the impact of their work. From teamwork to responsibility, this program helps develop valuable real-world skills while giving back to animals in need.

While we strive to provide animal interaction in every class, activities may change based on the animals available and the shelter’s needs at that time.

Spaces are limited to 14 participants per session

Scholarships are available. Please apply here.

Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.

We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.

Our approach

Our Mission
Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.

Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision
We want to build a world where no child or youth feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
Our entire team wants to see a world where every youngster struggling in any way feels able to reach out and has people who’ll help them with education, jobs, and more. We want to spread out in every region so we’ll be reachable to all.
