- Bundles of Kindness
Bundles of Kindness was founded in 2018 by Rachael Rosenberg, as she prepared for her Bat Mitzvah. Bundles of Kindness' mission is to provide substantial care packages to the Los Angeles homeless community. These packages are delivered through the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, food pantries, shelters, safe parking programs, and directly to people who are living on the streets of LA. Care packages typically include umbrellas, rain ponchos, blankets, hats, gloves, scarves, hand warmers, t-shirts, socks, underwear, flip flops, toiletries, facial wipes, dental hygiene products, menstrual products, sunscreen, individually wrapped shelf-stable food, water, juice, and information about community resources. Jackets, sweatshirts, and shoes are also made available.
Lois’ Paw Packs have been designed to target the needs of pets experiencing homelessness who are with their owners. Paw packs include dog food, bowls, treats, brushes, leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, and miscellaneous supplies.
Work can be done in Woodland Hills at the Bundles of Kindness storage, or remotely to help meet the goal of assembling 500 care packages in December.
Examples of the type of work that is needed includes: hosting collections, seeking corporate donations, promoting the Bundles of Kindness Amazon Wish List, sorting donations, and event planning. I would serve as a mentor and be available for zoom and in-person meetings. Each volunteer and intern will have an experience that is customized to their specific interests.
There are numerous ways to help Bundles of Kindness help more people and animals struggling with homelessness:
- Volunteer
Those interested in volunteering can do so once, or on an ongoing basis. Volunteers typically assist in sorting donations, conducting inventory, assembling care packages, arranging donation collections throughout the community, picking up donations, seeking corporate donations, obtaining silent auction items, and assisting with social media. Community service hours for mitzvah projects and day schools can be signed off on.
- Internship
Volunteers who are interested in dedicating time on a more regular basis can inquire about an internship. Interns have the opportunity to explore various avenues of volunteering, and will be overseen by a mentor. Additionally, interns will assist with event planning, media outreach, and brainstorming.
- Financial Donations
Bundles of Kindness is overseen by Hamakom/Shomrei Torah Synagogue which is a 501 (c)(3) organization. It's EIN # is 95-2153156.
Those wanting to make a tax deductible donation can make checks out to Bundles of Kindness/Hamakom. For more information, please email support@bundlesofkindness.org.
- Product Donations
Corporate donations are accepted and arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis. Bundles of Kindness obtains individual donations, largely through the Bundles of Kindness Amazon Wish. Individual arrangements can be made to make a donation outside of using the Amazon Wish List.

- Silent Auction Items
Bundles of Kindness hosts in person events at which silent auctions are held to raise funds to help support Bundles of Kindness’ mission. Those interested in donating goods and/or services that can be auctioned, will be provided documentation for tax deductions. For more information, please email support@bundlesofkindness.org.
