Description:

*Must be at least 13 years old to volunteer*

Our mission is to be a lighthouse of volunteers fighting poverty and restoring hope.

Our vision is to empower residents in local communities living in poverty to achieve self-sufficiency.

We achieve our mission by collecting, packaging, and distributing food to low-income communities through public food distributions and through partnerships with a network of service agencies and programs. Heart of Compassion not only distributes food to families in need, but also serves as a hub to provide transitional housing, occupational training, and vocational rehabilitation.

You are welcome to fill out the new volunteer form online at the following link (or you can fill out the form when you arrive at our warehouse):

We have multiple opportunities for volunteers to make a difference in the local community! On Monday mornings, we rely on our volunteers to prepare fruits and veggies by bagging them to prepare them for our public food distributions. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, we need volunteers to register recipients before our food distributions, volunteers to assist with traffic control, and volunteers to load shopping carts and vehicles with groceries.

Please wear a mask and closed-toed shoes. If you are volunteering at one of our food distributions, we recommend wearing a hat, sunscreen, and tennis shoes because distributions take place outdoors.

We need volunteers Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings (except for select days around holidays.) Please check our volunteer calendar to make sure that we need volunteers that day.
