Description:

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a dedicated community of dog lovers working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters and increase awareness of rescue dogs being wonderful pets.

Wags and Walks is focused on advocating for wrongfully stereotyped bully breeds, medical dogs, and mamas + puppies that are often overlooked and at-risk due to overcrowding. We do not select dogs based on their size, age, or breed. We select our dogs on a case-by-case basis, factoring in our ability to help and their likelihood of thriving when placed in the right home.

We know that, like amazing dogs, loving families come in all shapes and sizes. Our goal is to find every pup an adopter whose home, family, and lifestyle are a perfect fit for a lifetime of love and happiness.

Our Adoption Center in West LA is where our West Coast family adopts, volunteers, and learns about the importance of rescue. It is a hub for all things rescue—events, volunteering, and searching for your future pup!

Since joining Nashville’s community in 2019, Wags & Walks has rapidly become a leading rescue in the area. In July 2023, Nashville opened an Adoption Center to support the community and save more dogs in need.

This summer, Wags & Walks will be transporting adoptable rescues to New York to help alleviate overcrowding in shelters in The South and support our Nashville chapter. Our team will be in The Hamptons June – July working to find rescues well-matched, loving forever families and connecting with the community through local programming, events and partnerships.

We create programs for families and children that include but are not limited to, Paws and Pjs (children read to the pups), Children’s camps, and birthday parties. We also encourage children to join our volunteer team (they just have to be accompanied by an adult to walk the dogs).
